Folding edit this section dust collection principle
The dust collecting principle of wet precipitator and dry precipitator is the same, both of which rely on high voltage corona discharge to make the dust charged, and the dust charged reaches the dust collector plate/tube under the action of electric field force.Dry electric precipitator mainly deals with dry gas with very low water content, wet electric precipitator mainly deals with wet gas with high water content and even saturation. There is a big difference between WESP and DESP in the dust removal methods collected on the dust collector plate/pipe. Generally, the dry electric dust collector adopts mechanical vibration or acoustic wave to remove dust from the electrode, while the wet electric dust collector adopts the way of regular washing to remove dust along with the flow of the scouring fluid.

WESP has the advantages of high dust removal efficiency, small pressure loss, simple operation, low energy consumption, no moving parts, no secondary dust, low maintenance cost, short production downtime, can work below the flue gas dew point temperature, combined with other flue gas treatment equipment due to its compact structure, and diversified design forms.
Wet electric precipitator USES liquid to wash the dust collector surface to clear the dust, which can effectively collect fine particulate matter (PM2.5 dust, SO3 acid fog, aerosol), heavy metal (Hg, As, Se, Pb, Cr), organic pollutants (pahs, dioxins) and so on.In the humidity flue gas after wet electrostatic precipitator is used carbon can be up to 10 mg/m or even below 5 mg/m, dust collecting performance has nothing to do with dust properties, suitable for wet flue gas treatment, especially after the wet desulphurization in power plants, steel mills on the processing of gas containing dust, but the high cost of equipment investment, and need to be used with other dust removal equipment, its investment in technology economy and to evaluate the overall running costs.
Wet precipitator is usually called WESP, which has the same basic principle of dust removal as dry precipitator. It has to go through three stages: charge, collection and dust removal.
